The halfway point of our stay on the island of Sao Miguel in the Azores is dangerously close. Contrary to our fears, the roads are still not over and the rain is not raining all the time, but only for about 50% of the time. Before we can make a sensible entry (or even two) about our visit here, I invite you to a short announcement (because you know - blog traffic must match, and on vacation it's hard to sit at the computer).
We live in Ponta Delgada, it is some 4000 km from Warsaw. Airplanes only fly here from London, Frankfurt and Portugal. Transport logistics is hard, prices are slightly higher than in Poland, the weather is uncertain (it means sure it will rain), and the asphalt itself can not be many, since in the widest places the island has about 15 x 60km.

However, you can spend 2 weeks of vacations for some PLN 25,000-2,500 (including bicycle transport and food). About how to do it and whether it is worth coming soon (in spite of the fact that the photos betray a little).
Because Sao Miguel turns out, it's not just the fountains jumping over the mounds, and not only the Sete Cidades known to every car racing fan, it also:
Roads that lead straight to the sea

or just down
and so steep that they can not be steeper
but it's twisted accordingly
with zero car traffic
located very high
a little lower
low
or quite low
Sao Miguel for those who think that there is nothing better than ideal asphalt
and for those who like to feel gravel 'freedom'
For those who like surprises
and for those who like to get to the tops
starting from the ocean level
and ending further than the road
and also for those who are looking for something new
and all this in conditions I have not known until today - rain pouring even when the sky is blue

Aerial photos taken with a Zerotech Dobby?
exactly
Any new observations since the review? Do you still recommend it? Because I'm considering it
I'm a bit sad and feel unprofessional, but I can't find anything to complain about on this bike so far... unless it's the extralight inner tubes, of which the 75% died quickly and unexpectedly ;)
Generally, I meant the drone ;) But if you recommend a bike, I'll pay attention to that too :P
I replied too soon ;) The drone is ok – I don't think there's any competition when it comes to pocketable ones. If you're considering buying one, let me know – I've got one for sale and a few batteries. I guarantee the lowest price ;)
The Polish word "ojapierdolę" comes to my mind when I see these photos!
Good locations and a photographer's eye :)
I'll ask from a technical perspective - how do you manage to insert photos across the entire width of the screen in a template?
This bothered me for a long time and I envied everyone who had such templates.
The plugin that saved me was: Force Full Width Shortcode
You insert a photo between [jg-ffw] and [/jg-ffw] and that's it
Ha ha. Me too, when I saw this on someone's face, the reaction was one - I want it :) Unfortunately, despite my best efforts, I haven't found a way.
Thanks for the info.
It's beautiful there! Great photos!
Are these photos still from a GoPro? or did you invest in a camera?
photos, phone and I also added a mirrorless camera in my pocket. Not very comfortable, but the place is worth it
